School Work and Equality: Exploring Educational Issues v. 2

The second of two volumes which explore educational issues, this focuses on the debates about the organization of teaching and learning in schools, equality in education and preparation for and experience of life after school. It also contains a specially commissioned article by David Hargreaves. Together, the two volumes explain educational theory, analyze curriculum, the educational system and its finance, and examine the influence of family, neighbourhood and media on the child. They include both key published extracts and specially commissioned new articles; they are Open University readers for course E208, "Exploring Educational Issues". The work should be of interest to all those taking introductory and interdisciplinary courses in colleges, universities and departments of education.
