Bringing Out the Dead

This novel is set on the streets of New York. The story features a burned-out paramedic who constantly sees the ghosts of those he could not save. He is accompanied by the spirit of one of them, who may just save him from cracking under the strain. A first novel by an author who is himself a paramedic in the Hell's Kitchen area of New York.
