Penny Coltman, MEd. Res. (Cantab) is an experienced educator and trainer of teachers in the early years education sector in the United Kingdom. She gained her M.Ed. Res. at the University of Cambridge. Mrs. Coltman was a manager and lecturer on the University of Cambridge's Early Years and Primary PGCE course for 20+ years. In 2007, Mrs. Coltman was awarded a prestigious Pilkington Prize by the University of Cambridge in recognition of her contributions to the Early Years Teachers' Education. Mrs. Coltman specializes in early mathematics and science education and collaborated with Dr. David Whitebread (1948-2021) in researching self-regulation and the role of language in supporting early learning. She has worked with several educational publishers, including BBC worldwide, and created two award-winning practical classroom resources to support the teaching of early mathematics. Mrs. Coltman recently retired from the Faculty of Education at the University of Cambridge. Currently, she is the Early Years Education Mentor for CAMathories(TM). She is also a member of CAMathories' Education Team that designs the curriculum for CAMathories(TM), and is a writer of the Folktale Mathematics(TM) Series of Books.
