A Teacher's Guide to English and the Historic Environment

This is one of a series for teachers which aims to show how historical resources can be used as a basis of study in specific areas of work across a range of curriculum subjects at various levels. This book focuses on the links between English and the historic environment. Most out-of-school visits involve English work of some kind, whether it is taking notes which need to be edited or written up in class, or in purposeful listening and talking within groups or to others. This book goes further by looking at how sites can be used as a stimulus and context for creative language work.
