Multivariable Prediction Models in Medicine

In medicine, doctors naturally integrate several patient characteristics and symptoms to make a prediction about diagnosis and prognosis. These predictions are therefore multivariable in nature, and multivariable prediction models (MPMs) are used to combine this information to provide a reliable prognosis.
