Fiona Seymour's cruel father has pledged her to a man she despises. She plots an escape, but at the bank, finds her small inheritance has been stolen. Upset, she hurries away, trips, falls, and is rescued by a stranger. Philip Laughton, recovering from a near-fatal shipwreck, needs rest and quiet, but his superior insists on a last secret assignment, to discover who among the ton is supplying funds to the French.
