Description
This volume offers insight on sexual harassment from both sides - employers and employees - as well as providing solutions. It asks: why does sexual harassment occur?; how can organizations prevent sexual harassment and deal with it?; and what is the legal standing of all parties involved? The book provides practical advice for managers, personnel officers and trade unionists on developing and implementing sexual harassment policies. It provides a background to current legislation (including the European Union's Code of Practice) and UK practice, outlining recent developments. The author, who has many years experience in dealing with harassment issues, gives a detailed analysis of the reasons why harassment occurs, arguing that sexual harassment has more to do with power relations than with sexuality.
