Pre-Contract Construction Project Management (ICE Textbook series)

This title guides undergraduates through the pre-contract management stages of a construction project from initial team selection, project feasibility and development of the brief to award of the contract. Consideration is given to procurement and the methods available, design management and value engineering, controlling costs during design, development of a master programme including duration estimation and resources planning, contract forms and the essentials of forming a contract, and the tendering process including evaluation of tenders. Each stage is covered by individual chapters with key learning points summarised at the end of each chapter.
