The Conscious Citizen

A Journey In Citizenship and The Tough Questions is a uniquely designed Discussion Guide and companion to the Master Publication, The Conscious Citizen: The Tough Questions The Average American Should Be Asking. As a Discussion Guide, this publication is intended to be used by those who are reading or have read the Master, with the goal of benefiting further from the insights and lessons gained on how to more effectively contribute as Conscious Citizens within America's Democratic Republic. The benefits are best gained by first reading the Master Publication. Then, you should read and make notes in the Discussion Guide of any changes in your previous perspective on "how big a problem" is each of the sixteen topic areas presented following your experience of the reading of The Conscious Citizen. Another approach would be to perform this exercise as a part of a neighborhood gathering or a small, facilitated group during a sponsored training session. In either approach, you should remember that the objective is a review of the Tough Questions and a discussion of the critical thinking process used by the protagonists, Paul and Paulette, in The Conscious Citizen, as they arrived at their survey responses. The objective is not to seek any form of consensus, if you are in a group setting. It's all about understanding the thought process. The sixteen topic areas presented in the Discussion Guide were first determined by the Pew Research Center, a well-respected and national Think Tank, as America's major "problems" in July 2024, a few months before the U.S. Presidential Election. By spending some quality time to consciously understand, ponder, and possibly respond to each of the 114 Tough Questions set forth in The Conscious Citizen. I sincerely believe that the only result will be a better you, a better social & economic environment in the country, and a better future for generations to come.
