Mark spends his time in Columbia County, New York and Volusia County, Florida. He enlisted in the Army during the Vietnam War and served in an Airborne Infantry Regiment in Europe. Mark has earned an AA in liberal arts, BA and MS in English Education with post graduate studies in a PHD program at Syracuse University. He studied in England, where he met and discussed the works of British author's like Kingsley Amis, Ruth Fainlight and Gordon Williams. Mark published his first book in June 2021, Columbia: Those Who Served with Honor (updated 2024), which recounted the lives and service of 200 veterans from Columbia County. It was followed by a series of children's books: Harriet's Egg (2021), Digger Digger Digger (2022), There's A Ghost In My Closet (2023), and Jericho Jim (2024). Mark published a collection of short stories with the title Black River: Tales of the North Country (2022) and soon followed with a children's play called POOH (2023) which is based on A.A. Milne's book Winne-the Pooh.
