Description
Make a promise that will last a lifetime with this heartfelt picture book, full of affirming wishes from a parent or caregiver that encourage children to grow into who they're meant to become.
I promise to notice the ways you are you.
To celebrate each place your spirit comes through.
To delight in the ways that you’re deeply yourself.
And to help you be that, more than anything else.
I Promise You This captures all the wishes you have stored in your heart for your child. Filled with gentle rhymes by M.H. Clark and beautiful, painterly illustrations by Frances Ives, this is a timeless book that children can hold onto for years to come. The messages inside help your child know that you care deeply for them and that you promise to appreciate all the beautiful things that make them themselves.
The fine-art style illustrations capture the deep emotional connection between a child and caregiver and move through child developmental stages, beginning with a newborn embraced by their parent and ending with a young adult saying goodbye to embark on their own journey. Throughout, you'll find many kinds of families in tender scenes of play, exploring, and togetherness.
As you read this book together, your child will hear words of encouragement that they can carry with them for a lifetime, and you’ll be reminded of all the most important promises you want to embody for them each day.
