Description
Colby's Code is a fully illustrated children's book that follows the journey of an adorable sea turtle, who has non speaking Autism. This book was inspired by the lived experience of one child, and does not seek to represent the entire spectrum of those diagnosed with Autism.
Through the simple words and adorable illustrations, we learn that although Colby does not talk, he sees, hears, feels, among other things, and we are encouraged to look beyond our differences and find opportunities for inclusion and kindness. Colby's sea friends accompany him in this book, and have some of their own unique features as well.
This book includes a hide and seek game - where even early readers can look for hidden shapes on each page. The last few pages of the paperback leave room for a sticker collection!
Colby's Code is a series, available in English, Spanish, German, Italian, and Portuguese - to promote inclusion worldwide.

Dr. Elizabeth Clark has authored a wide variety of academic manuscripts and research publications, but is new to self publishing books. Elizabeth is a Professor & Department Chair in a Doctor of Physical Therapy Program in Orlando, Florida, where she educates her future colleagues in areas of her clinical expertise and board certification-including Neurology and Executive Leadership. Her first non-fiction book, "Unlikely to Unstoppable - Stories from Everyday Entrepreneurs", was born out of a curiosity to learn more about individuals that seemed to thrive, no matter the circumstances! Dr. Clark and her colleague/friend/co-author used qualitative methodology to interview and analyze not only the transcripts of 12 individuals, but also the journals and writings of her co-authors late father. This endeavor resulted in a beautiful manuscript that chronicles the adventures, advice, and HOPE from these everyday entrepreneurs. Readers will gain insight and motivation while being encouraged to navigate their own path.Additionally, Dr. Clark recently collaborated with her illustrator to develop her first children's book. Colby's Code is based upon the lived experience of her son, diagnosed with Autism. Her goal was to promote inclusive actions and behaviors in young readers, and maybe create a ripple effect of kindness through her words and her collaborator's illustrations. Colby's Code is a series available in paperback and e-book download in FIVE languages - English, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, and German. When not reading, writing, or teaching, Elizabeth spends her time with her teenage son exploring the globe! Their home-school journey facilitates many opportunities for experiential learning in a wide variety of locations. Their goal is always to work hard, but play harder.
