She gained attention for her help to create and run Weezythanxyou.com, a website where the rapper Lil Wayne published letters to his fans during his incarceration at Rikers Island. Civil won a 2009 Black Web Award from Essence magazine and was named on the Ebony Power 100 list. Other awards and honors include Black Enterprise's "social influencer of the year" and the 2014 BET Awards.
