Since the publication in 1988 of Bob Church's "Guide to Trout Flies", the world of fly tying has witnessed many changes. Materials such as seal and polar bear fur are no longer available and have been replaced by synthetics whose properties open up new possibilities. This book charts these developments and presents more than 400 innovative flies, with dressing details and tips on how to use them. Reflecting the international nature of trout fishing, Church draws on patterns worldwide from Finland, France, Spain, Poland, Czechoslovakia and New Zealand, as well as recent offerings from Britain and North America.
