Description
In the postmodern world where religious pluralism reigns, questions about the relationship between Christianity and the world's other faith traditions continue to confront the church. In response, this work reaffirms the absolute uniqueness of Christ as the only Lord and Savior of humanity and reconfirms the identity of the Christian faith as a religion centered on the person and work of Jesus.
This work includes contributions from broad range of international theologians, including Ellen Charry, Gabriel Fackre, Veli-Matti Kaerkkaeinen, Clark Pinnock, K. K. Yeo, Graham Tomlin, C. V. Mathew, NG Kam Weng, Elias Dantas, Mark Thompson, Mark Achtemeier, and Paul Chung. These scholars affirm the uniqueness of Christ both in terms of his teachings and works and in relationship to other faith traditions.
Christ the One and Only will be a useful text in Christology and contemporary and global theology courses. Pastors and church leaders will also appreciate the book's global affirmation of Christianity's uniqueness.
