Beginning Algebra

This book takes a concrete approach (as opposed to a conceptual approach) to beginning algebra. Much emphasis is placed on problem solving (including relevant applications), and extensive learning aids help the students. The book's problem solving approach uses brief, precisely worded paragraphs followed by many detailed examples, and every section opens with an application problem integrated into the explanation, and word problems and other motivational problems are included in every exercise set. There is a strong emphasis on graphics and on geometry concepts, and there is a multitude of exercises.
