Computers and Computing

This edited volume contains most of the papers presented during the conference "Future Trends in Computing" (Grenoble, France, 2nd-6th December, 1985). The purpose of this volume is to examine future trends in the following areas: semi-numerical algorithms; numerical and algebraic computation; software engineering; applications of AI to scientific computation; special purpose integrated chips; computer arithmetic; computer architecture and super-computers, parallel computation.
