Legal Aspects of Drug Control and Treatment of Drugdependent Persons within the European Community

This book discusses the control of drugs and the treatment of drug-dependent persons within the European Community. It examines the extent to which EC Member States have implemented the provisions of the international Drug Conventions, and the factors - social, economic and governmental - that may prevent those States from implementing them in their entirety. It also questions the adequacy of penal measures for dealing with drug-related offences; and looks at the treatment facilities available in the different community countries. Dr Chatterjee's publications include "Legal Aspects of International Drug Control" (1981), "Drug Abuse and Drug-related Crime" (1988) and "The Law of Transnational Business Transactions" (1988).
