Caves

There are very few completely unexplored areas on Earth, but caves still offer countless opportunities for new discovery. Under the ground, there is another world, ranging from minute passageways to vast caverns, lakes and rivers and within these there is a unique wild life. This book explores the living natural history of caves - the flora and fauna, their habits and habitats - and explains what they tell us of the past. Cave sediments are often the graveyards of past cave dwellers, such as the hyaena and man, evidenced by the bones and tools left behind.
