Dave Casey, EFO, MPA, CFO, is managing partner of Ascend Leadership, a promotional testing and training provider. He is the co-author of the IAFC/NFPA/ISFSI textbook Live Fire Training: Principles & Practice and the officer leadership video series "The Right Seat" (Fire Engineering). 'He served as Director of Louisiana's Municipal fire training/certification program and as Chief of Fire Standards & Training for Florida. Formerly the Fire Chief of Clay County (FL) for 11 years. Concurrently, for 15 years he was a career firefighter/paramedic with Sunrise Fire Rescue (5 stations), rising through the ranks retiring as the Training/Personnel Division Chief and for 14 years as a volunteer firefighter with the Plantation Fire Dept (also 5 station) leaving as Assistant Fire Chief
Brian P. Kazmierzak, EFO, CTO, has been a member of the fire service since 1991.' 'Brian is currently employed by the Penn Twp. Fire Dept. in Mishawaka, IN as Battalion Chief on C-Shift and also the Chief of Training. He was a founding member of the MABAS Division 201 Tactical Rescue Team and currently serves as a Team Leader, MABAS 201 TRT provides technical rescue response using a coordinated system of six fire departments serving a nine county area in Indiana and Michigan.' Brian has an associate's degree in Emergency Services Administration from Indiana University, an associate's degree in Fire Science from Ivy Tech State College and a bachelor's degree in fire service administration from Southern Illinois University.' In addition, Brian completed the National Fire Academy's Executive Fire Officer Program in 2006, is a CPSE credentialed Chief Training Officer.
