Dee Carter is the founder of The Carter Financial Group. The firm is still active and strong in Midland with over 800 clients. He became associated with The Advisors' Academy in 2011 and serves on the Advisory Board of that marketing firm. He is also an Investment Advisor Representative with Sound Income Strategies, an SEC approved brokerage firm with headquarters in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Dee has been active in many different programs in the Midland area including the Northwest YMCA (board member), The Midland Association for Retarded Citizens (board member), the Southwest Basketball Officials Association (board member and Secretary for 13 years), The Midland Odessa Symphony and Chorale (board member and Chorale member), The Midland Downtown Lions' Club (Foundation board member) and served as a basketball official (high school and college) for 28 years. He has been a member of The National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors-Texas since 1976, serving as the State President of that organization in 2000-01. He received the Lifetime Achievement Award from NAIFA-Texas in 2012 and was recognized as Lifetime Member of the Southwest Officials Association in 2002. He was also a nationally recognized Elvis Tribute Artist for 15 years, and was a finalist for the Elvis Impersonator of the Year in 2004. Dee has a weekly radio program each Monday morning at 8:00 on KWEL 1070 AM and 107.1 FM, where he discusses retirement planning. He has been recognized as a leader for American Equity Investment Life Insurance Company appearing on their Agents' Forum program in March of 2018.
