Slope, the Yellow Dragon

Two children, Trudy and Jay, are magically transported to the land of Low Check. The only way home is through a door guarded by a dragon. But which dragon? There are nine of them! They team up with three talking animals to destroy the dragons and find their way home, setting the people of Low Check free of the curse of the dragons' spells of deception as they go. The author, Thor Carden, wrote these stories to teach his grandchildren and great-grandchildren critical thinking skills. Just by reading the story, the young reader learns one of the most important elements of these skills - identifying and refuting logical fallacies. Each dragon uses a particular category of logical fallacy to bind some of the people under their control. When the lies are exposed, the people are set free.
