My life was pretty normal before my son, Mitchell, was born. I graduated from college, started a career, got married, and had my first son.
The following year Mitchell was born, at 24 weeks, and things turned upside down. Upon searching for a book, written by a parent, to learn what our experience might entail I only found textbooks written by doctors.
When we left the hospital, I decided to write the book Mitchell's Gift to help other families who unexpectedly found themselves in the Neo-natal Intensive Care Unit. My goal was to pass on all the pointers and tips we learned during our stay so parents could spend their time focused on their new baby.
After finishing Mitchell's Gift I had the writing bug. I began creating adventures that would make kids want to read.
One day, while watching my daughter hang from a tree in our front yard, I wondered what everything looked like upside down. So I spent the next couple of months upside down hanging off of various items to see what the world looked like... and that is how Tina Marie's Amazing World came about.
The Adventures of Herb the Wild Turkey was written 10 years ago while on my honeymoon. After kayaking and cycling around Galiano Island, my husband fell asleep on the couch of our remote cabin. To this day he swears that a turkey woke him up... (there wasn't a turkey on the whole island). You will understand when you read the book. From there the ideas kept pouring in and my other books followed!
