As an international spy, I've accepted my solitary life and embraced I operate best on my own. When I arrive in Silver Ridge on a mandatory sabbatical, I'm unprepared for the way my sister's small town and the people in it force their way into my space and, disturbingly, my heart. Especially the man I'm partnered with at a temporary job. He's the human embodiment of Golden Retriever energy to my black cat tendencies. A literal war hero and the sunniest person I've ever met, he's my complete opposite, and yet somehow, I can't seem to resist his pull. And he can't seem to stop showing me a version of life I long ago accepted I'd never have. A life that looks increasingly alluring. I'm drawn in by his genuine goodness, not to mention his ridiculous good looks. Every minute we spend together makes me want what I've given up even though it's incompatible with the career I've sacrificed for. When we face down danger together, I start seeing what I want more clearly. But I've got work to do, and I can't just walk away from reality for the dream of this man or this town... even if it's the most tempted I've ever been.
