Description
Caillou and his family go grocery shopping at a farmer's market, where Caillou learns about locally grown food and foods that have to take a plane to get to the supermarket. Caillou also finds out that strawberries are available only in summer, but he discovers all sorts of other flavors. The family chooses something new, fresh from the farm, for that night's supper. This book will inspire children to try new fruits and vegetables at the local farmer's market just like Caillou, while also instructing on contemporary concerns in a simple and fun way.
Reviews / Votes
Children three years of age and up will discover what they might encounter on a visit to a local Farmer's Market. This would be an excellent way to explain the differences between locally grown and store bought products to a young child. -- Bob Walch * Bookloons *More details
