Description
9Marks Guide Empowers Believers to Reach the Last Languages with the Gospel Through Long-Term, Church-Centered Missions
Jesus told his followers that salvation "should be proclaimed in his name to all nations, beginning from Jerusalem (Luke 24:47)." But different characteristics between people groups-including language, lineage, laws, and land-can make it difficult to reach those who have no access to the gospel. If believers are to fulfill the Great Commission, they must be equipped to navigate these barriers.
In this brief guide, Brooks Buser and Justin Harris help missionaries and their sending churches reach unreached language groups through effective, biblical missions strategies. Buser shares from his experience living with the Yembiyembi people, translating the scriptures into their native tongue and teaching them the Bible until a church was planted. Harris writes from a local perspective, explaining how churches provide a healthy foundation for international missions. Together, they detail how to build and strengthen churches around the world, emphasizing long-term health, not hurry. Offering an effective, biblical strategy for global evangelism, this guide equips believers to reach the last languages with God's word.
Comprehensive: Offers focused, long-term strategies for planting and strengthening churches in majority and minority languages
Insightful: Draws wisdom from the authors' own experiences as missionaries, as well as Scripture and the accomplishments of missionaries throughout church history
Accessible: Written to guide pastors, staff, and missions-minded Christians in developing a healthy view of missions

Brooks Buser (BS, San Diego Christian College) worked as a CFO of a Dutch multinational before he and Nina moved to Papua New Guinea to see a church planted among the Yembiyembi people. Over the thirteen years there, they developed an alphabet for the Yembiyembi language, taught them how to read and write in their own language, translated the Scriptures, and established a New Testament church. Brooks has an honorary PhD in linguistics and Bible translation from San Diego Christian College. He presently serves as the president of Radius International and Missionary.com.
