I was particularly impressed with Patrick Brennan's essay on General Griesbach, a long overdue assessment of the remarkable man based on careful use of archival sources. I enjoyed the other essays which offer other approaches to the war but it is the contributions of Horral, Cook, Brennan, and Wise that make this collection a must."
