Digital Design

Theory, design, and experimentation are combined in this text/workbook so that students are immersed in the actual experience of engineering design, construction and testing. Chapters are based on experiments which provide direct experience with all aspects of digital design; discussions of basic theoretical material accompany each topic covered. Emphasis is on the essentials of documentation, encouraging concise, well-organized reporting of design procedures and teaching methods. In addition, the text contains open-ended problems designed to expose students to the trial-and-error methods that may be necessary to solve some design problems. Numerous tables and diagrams, worked-out examples and drill exercises are included, together with an appendix on practical digital integrated circuits.
