Description
British naturalist Charles Darwin is best known for his Theory of Evolution. His five-year voyage on the HMS Beagle took him into Brazilian jungles and the Andes Mountains. Find out how his observations and drawings led him to put forward a theory that shocked and changed the world.
Level 2 readers are aimed at children who are becoming more confident at reading on their own. Simple sentences and informative captions help readers understand new ideas, while key words increase readers' vocabulary.

Leslie spent twenty-five years teaching Canadian and British history with the BC Open University. When she retired from teaching, she became a bookseller in Victoria and then in Vancouver with Vancouver Kidsbooks, where she still works. In addition, she has co-written two children's picture books about Canadian history with Sarah Harvey. Any spare time is spent knitting, reading, and visiting her two grandsons.
