Description
This collection of poetry ranges over a significant period of time and a wide variety of both internal and external landscapes More so than any other form of writing, Poetry, as I have experienced it, is movement. Cadence, tempo, rhythm: the kaleidoscope of impressions are physical and immediate. One could also mention along with the common tropes of dance and music, drive - the drive to give aesthetic form to what at times can appear to be a chaos of sensation. Along with the drives comes the connotation of travel. Traveling through landscapes of discovery and exploration, producing memories, traces, poetry as psychoarchaeology. To lay a mosaic, to pattern one's experience ... that is poetic duty. Poetry is action at a distance. Action as language, indirect communication as a vehicle that allows us to interpret the truths of our own hearts. And although occurring sometimes in darkened or despairing places, hopefully always in the service of love.
