Description
This is an account of the search for the cause of rheumatoid arthritis and the discovery of a safe, effective treatment by which it can be controlled and reversed. For the last 50 years, Dr Brown has studied and treated rheumatoid arthritis as an infectious disease. The principal focus of his research has been on mycoplasma, a virus-like germ that he first isolated from the joint of an arthritic at the Rockerfeller Institute before World War II. Through the use of small amounts of a proven, safe antibiotic, tetracycline, he has achieved encouraging results with over 10,000 patients. In some 80% of these cases, the disease was brought completely under control to the point where no further medication was needed.
