The Slayer of Shadows

Marinda, "the girl who talks to cockroaches", is a visionary child trapped in the squalor of an African ghetto of poverty and violence. But Marinda has a saviour, a Shadow-slayer all of her own, who helps to extricate the girl from her origins. He is the focus of her unfaltering love.
