Description
Based on the Waverley Abbey Insight Day on Depression led by Chris Ledger, this book will help both those working with others through issues relating to depression, and those who are themselves sufferers. Drawing on Chris's many years of experience counselling those suffering from depression and having seen the torment and despair that it brings, the book aims to help us understand depression better by reflecting on individual experience, psychological research and professional practice. It includes personal insight and practical activities for both the sufferer and the helper, and offers a holistic and God-centred approach to understanding and moving beyond depression. Each chapter ends with a reflection, activity and prayer to assist on this journey of understanding and learning.

Wendy Bray is a freelance writer and journalist. She has written ten books, contributed to numerous others and writes features for a wide range of publications. Her first book 'In the Palm of God's Hand', an honest but humorous diary account of living with cancer, won the biography prize in the Christian Book Awards 2002. Passionate about aeroplanes, Wendy's long-held ambition is to fly with the RAF's Red Arrows flying display team!
