Divided into 16 chapters, each devoted to a single country, full information is provided on all aspects of each country's higher education system. Information provided includes: the different types of higher education institutions, the organization and validation of courses, admission requirements, application procedures and fees, scholarships and grants, language requirements and social aspects - insurance, accommodation, cost of living and counselling. Appendices to each chapter contain lists of useful addresses, a tabular survey of courses available at every institution, statistical information on foreign students' numbers, a bibliography and a glossary. The final chapter presents information on the Council of Europe's structures, goals and policy for increasing student mobility, operational programmes and its network of national information centres on academic mobility and recognition.
