Hanne Bramness is a Norwegian poet, editor, translator, and novelist. Born in 1959, she published her first Norwegian collection Korrespondanse in 1983 and has followed this with five other collections, one of them - Kysset - for children. Her other collections are I sin tid (1986), Nattens kontinent (1992), Revolusjonselegier (1996) and Regnet i Buenos Aires (2002). She won the Prize of the Norwegian Poetry Club in 1996 and the prestigious Doubloug Prize from the Swedish Academy in 2006. Her many translations include works by Mina Loy, Dulce Maria Loynaz, Sophie de Mello Breyner Andresen and Rosario Castellanos.
