There are textbooks galore, but there aren't many crafted as intelligently as this one. This book will change the way that students understand leisure. It will give them an easier entry to that place where difficult ideas fuse into something intelligible, where real understanding sits and the educated imagination is stirred. -- Tony Blackshaw In keeping with exploring the central theme of each chapter, relevant and contemporary case studies and exemplars have been included to allow students to engage with the material. Students will like these as will tutors as they can be used as a focus for discussion. Overall this book does achieve its aims, however this is not an introductory textbook that students will pick up and read through in the one go.
