Michael Bowler has been writing about cars old and new for over 35 years. A graduate engineer, he joined the technical staff of Motor magazine for ten years. In 1973, he starter Classic Cars magazine, the first in the world to recognize the arrival of the new breed of vintage car. After seven years, he became the director at Aston Martin and Zagato, Milan. In 1990, he joined Yamaha to develop their Grand Prix supercar; before he returned to freelance journalism. Along the way he has owned and raced classic cars and has served on the FIA Historic Commission.
