Bobby Bowden was known as much for his affable charm as for his championship teams. Having coached young men over seven decades, he was the second-winningest coach in major college football history. The patriarch of college football’s most famous coaching family, Bowden was heavily involved in the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Bowden was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 2006. He died in 2021.
