Description
Energy crisis has emphasized the importance of heat transfer on the performance of the equipment working at low temperature. The use of refrigerating mixtures for refrigeration and multicomponent fluid mixtures liquefaction plants has given rise to the need for accurate experimental data and improved theoretical correlation and prediction methods. Heat transfer at low temperatures has always been a source of original and difficult problems. This book comprises a number of selected papers from the International Symposium on Heat and Mass Transfer in Refrigeration and Cryogenics, held in Dubrovnik, Yugoslavia from September 1-5, 1986, organized by the International Centre for Heat and Mass Transfer. They cover a wide range of problems in the fields of thermal insulation, heat transfer in refrigeration, heat transfer in mixtures, thermodynamic and thermophysical properties and freezing and melting.
