David J. Bookbinder is a psychotherapist, writer, photographer, and teacher. He holds a masters degree in both Counseling Psychology and Creative Writing, has taught writing and literature at the college level, and has given presentations and workshops on a variety of psychological topics.
The Flower Mandalas are Bookbinder's signature photographic work and have been exhibited at galleries and museums in the Boston area and in New York City. They won an Artist Fellowship grant in photography from the Massachusetts Cultural Council and were featured in the prestigious photography magazine LensWork. Emily Sper is the author of three interactive, non-fiction picture books with over 200,000 units sold. Her self-published Hanukkah Coloring & Activity Book is in its second printing. She has also created a line of holiday card games sold in shops nationwide.
A graduate of the Rhode Island School of Design, Emily writes, illustrates, and designs her books. She has worked as a book designer for Dutton, Grosset & Dunlap, and Scholastic. Before founding Blue Iris Design in 1990, she was Creative Director of Marketing Services at Putnam Publishing (Putnam Young Readers Group).
