Translation is a phenomenon that affects us all on a daily basis, the more so now that dissemination of information is greatly enhanced by modern technology. Prof. Lukasz Bogucki is Director of the Institute of English at Lodz University, Poland. He is the author of four books and over twenty articles on translation theory. He has also edited one volume and co-edited another. He has taught translation for twenty years and supervised over eighty dissertations. He is a member of the editorial board of the Journal of Specialised Translation.Dr Mikolaj Deckert works at the Institute of English at Lodz University, Poland. His academic interests include translation, cognitive linguistics, media discourse, pragmatics and corpus linguistics. He has written a number of papers and a monograph, Meaning in Subtitling: Toward a Contrastive Cognitive Semantic Model.
