All three of the authors have had important roles in the work on fax standards by the EIA/TIA TR-29 and the ITU fax communities. Ken McConnell was the first chair of TR-29. Stephen Urban is the current chair of TR-29. Dennis Bodson, as chair of the US delegation for fax standards at the ITU (formerly CCITT) has been instrumental in incorporating US fax standards into the international standards.
