Brooklands Giants

Ouststanding among the cars that raced at the motor course at Brooklands from 1907 to 1939 were those giants with engines of over 10-litres capacity, many having even larger power units. Some cars were of very basic construction with flimsy chassis and chain drive, but others were large racing machines from an earlier age and had an aura of antiquity even then. The sight and sound of these monsters racing around the steeply banked outer circuit in the Lightening Handicaps and other races thrilled a generation.
