Active Learning in Higher Education

This volume contains 18 articles from the Intensive Programme ALHE (Active Learning in Higher Education). The intention of this EU programme is to enable and promote professional development of all participants (students, staff) in Higher Education Institutions and to develop a new professional identity. Most of the participants are doctoral students and staff of the participating universities who present their works within their field of research.
The main focus of the programme was on: Description and analysis of teaching/learning theories and practice in higher education; Tendencies of developments in higher education in the context of the common European Higher Education Area; Lifelong learning: old and new challenges for higher education; The roles of students and educators in the teaching/learning process in higher education; Methods, techniques, technologies, ICT in diverse learning environments, systems and modes. ALHE is part of the EUDORA (European Doctorate in Teaching and Teach Education) programme.
