Description
Forbidden to be together, unable to resist ... Will destiny keep them together, or will fate tear them apart?
I was nothing more to her than a curiosity.
She's my everything.
A healer on a quest in a foreign land to find a new medicinal herb, elevating her in her family's eyes ... A warrior soul-bonded to a magical fox, marking him as a grim omen to his people...
Two worlds, two souls...
Rei Yunhsi was never considered talented or beautiful-but she was always determined.
Despite her parents' objections, Rei was certain that her fate lay in the neighboring country
of Paruskia, where she could not only continue her pursuit of her refined plant magic, but
seek and find a medicinal herb that would lead her to become a legendary healer. Upon her
arrival in Paruskia, however, fate had other plans.
Trained warrior Ilvor Raev had always been viewed as a bad omen by his fellow
Paruskians, whose ancient magical powers lay in their bonds with animal soul
companions. Ilvor's companion, a fox, meant he had been marked by the God of Death to
become a Grimr. Though Ilvor doesn't believe this, the superstitious Paruskians viewed
him with suspicion.
When Rei and Ilvor meet, each begins to challenge the assumptions they have endured all
their lives, hoping for a peaceful life together. However, peace was never an option as long
as the demonic Jyagas continued their war with the Paruskians. As Rei and Ilvor battle
prejudice and endure vicious attacks from evil forces, the healer and the warrior come
face to face with their own fates-and must battle for their love as well as their lives.

Leah Bliss grew up in the north suburbs of Minneapolis, Minnesota with a single mom and her older brother. When she was 18, she decided that Minnesota was too small for her, so she packed up a small suitcase and boarded a one way flight to Fairbanks, Alaska. When she landed, her phone didn't work, her debit card was shut off, and her luggage was lost. She had nothing, and she sat and cried outside the airport, lost and unsure what to do as she had zero plan. Things worked out though, she started college at UAF where she met several life long friends. After two years of college and not knowing what to do, she took a break and started working at the air force base nearby, where she met her now husband. She and her husband then traveled all over North America, living in Texas, California, Louisiana, and eventually settling back in Leah's home state of Minnesota. After unsuccessfully trying for children, they decided to foster and adopted their first placement, and a few years after that became grandparents. She also fosters animals and currently has two dogs, Bug and Yanda, and two cats, Simone and Pookie. During her travels she attended online school and finished her bachelor's in Criminal Justice and Human Services and later got her Master's in Terrorism Studies. She's always wanted to be a writer ever since she was a little girl and would be found writing stories in her notebook and telling stories to anyone who would listen. She draws from real life experience in her writing to weave fantastical worlds in her fantasy, bringing real world stakes to fantasy settings, making the writing feel gritty, emotional, and real. She enjoys all things dark romance, and can often be found with her nose in a book or writing her own stories with high stakes. She has no intention to stop her writing anytime soon, driving her family nuts with several ideas and is often found bouncing ideas off of her dogs.
