Twenty-eight years ago, Detective Roger Colby put Morgan Laird-a sadistic killer with a trail of mutilated victims-behind bars for life. Case closed, justice was served. Or so Colby thought.

Now, the unthinkable has happened: Laird is free. Paroled, wheelchair-bound, and Harmless...or so they say.

But as a chilling string of new murders begin, each echoing Laird's original signature, Colby is pulled back into a nightmare he thought he'd buried.
