Description
In recent years Asian countries have experienced rapid economic and industrial development; unfortunately this has also exacerbated the pollution of the water environment. Such problems are common across the region and it has proven valuable to organise a series of IAWQ (as IAWPRC is now known) Regional Conferences to examine the problems of water pollution control in an Asian context. These proceedings include industrial and domestic wastewater treatment, specific treatment processes, and wastewater reuse, together with consideration of environmental impacts and comparison of water pollution control legislation in Asian countries. The papers selected here are on the design of physico-chemical and biological processes for wastewater treatment. This book is aimed at scientists, civil and environmental engineers involved with pollution control in the developing countries of Asia and elsewhere.
