The Magic of Trees

Celebrates the subject of trees as an inspiration to artistic imagination, presenting a selection on classical, modernist and contemporary artist who have identified an aesthetic, natural or symbolic link with trees. The role of the tree in folklore, magic and religion is discussed, and is joined by reproductions of paintings and sculptures by Monet, Viola, Cezanne, Beuys, Ernst, Giacometti and many others.
