Adventures in Puzzling

This title provides a different kind of challenge. There are millions of puzzle-heads who are tired of standard crosswords and long for a different kind of challenge. Here it is, from acclaimed word wizard Patrick Berry. Berry's "Extravaganzas" are interlocking sets of puzzles-within-puzzles, ranging from crossword variations to picture puzzles to logic workouts. Solve each smaller puzzle to get a one-word clue; then put those clues together into a final conundrum, which has to be solved to arrive at the solution of the overall puzzle! This is ingenious wordplay fun on a higher plane.
