Internet for Active Learners

Author Pam Berger has been a driving force behind ICONnect, a technology initiative of the American Association of School Librarians, which guides media specialists and K-12 educators toward integration on Internet resources into the curriculum. In her talks around the country, Berger has introduced "Socrates", a mythical student of the 21st century and a big fan of the school libary. In "Internet for Active Learners", the reader will discover Socrates' world, through which they can learn about how technology serves the needs of students - now and in the future. Berger integrates pointers to the ICONnect web site and to her web site, Cybertours, into the text, allowing online updates of her models in print. The book should help those responsible for meeting the information needs of students as we enter the new millennium.
